PRACTICE TOUR: IN HOUSE LABORATORY
Our state of the art in house laboratory enables us to perform a large range of blood tests, urine tests and microscopy on site to ensure that delays associated with waiting for results to return from external laboratories do not hinder the diagnosis and treatment of your pet's illness.
We use our biochemisty analyzer to test for substances in the blood that give us an idea of the health of your pet's organs. We mostly use the biochemistry tests to look at the liver, the kidney, the pancreas and for diseases such as diabetes.
Our haematology analyzer looks at the number of different types of blood cells in your pet's blood. This can be important for diagnosing infectious conditions, anaemia, a hormonal condition and some more serious diseases such as leukaemia
Our electrolytes and blood gas analyzer measures the amount of sodium, potassium and chloride in your pets blood. This analyzer can also measure the level of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your pet's blood, this is important in critical patients and patients with lung disease
