The Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) is a charity dedicated to promoting the health and welfare of cats

links to a number of FAB fact sheets on subjects ranging from feline evolution and domestication
to preventative health care advice, to detailed information on all common feline diseases. Some of
the content is a little technical.
Canine arthritis is a very common condition affecting most large breed dogs, and many smaller dogs as they reach middle to older age. This website is published by the drug company that makes Metacam, it has a comprehensive review of arthritis and management of the condition in a very accessible form. However, you should be aware that we do not always prescribe Metacam when managing canine and feline arthritis, we decide the best anti-inflammatory and indeed whether your pet requires any anti-inflammatories on a case by case basis.

You should be aware that treatment of heart disease is complex and often involves a combination of drugs to give your dog the best clinical care, our choice of drug is based on each individual patient, Vetmedin may not be the most appropriate drug for your pet.
The Pet Travel Scheme is the 'pet passport' system that allows pet animals from certain countries to enter the UK
without quarantine as long as they meet the rules. It also means that people in the UK can take their pets to other
European Union (EU) countries, and return with them to the UK. We recieve many questions regarding the requirements of
this scheme, since it is important that every rule is abided by to ensure your pet is allowed to return without quarantine

The BVA website provides owners with information on the BVA/KC hip and elbow dysplasia schemes and the BVA/KC eye testing scheme. If you are considering breeding from your dog you should investigate these schemes to minimise the risk of inherited disease in the puppies.
